Olivia Rodrigo will perform two shows at the Centre Bell this Wednesday and Thursday as part of her Unraveled Tour. The global arena run follows the release of her third studio album, "you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love."

What defines the Unraveled Tour?

The production is designed around a seasonal theme, dividing the concert into five distinct acts. Each segment represents a different season, utilizing specific visual aesthetics, costume changes, and musical atmospheres to reflect the emotional shifts found in her music. This immersive experience allows the singer to transition between various moods, ranging from soft, intimate crooning to high-energy pop-rock.

Key elements of the performance include:

  • A setlist featuring 23 songs, including 13 new tracks and hits like "vampire" and "good 4 u."
  • An all-female backing band consisting of guitarists, bassists, keyboardists, and a drummer.
  • A high-concept visual moment during "the cure" where artificial rain causes a white dress to melt away, revealing a red bodysuit.

A focus on female empowerment

The singer's stage setup reflects her broader commitment to supporting women. Her touring band is entirely female, a choice that aligns with her recent work launching the Daisy Chain Field festival. That inaugural event, which featured artists like Alanis Morissette and Stevie Nicks, raised $20 million USD for various charities benefiting women.

For the Montreal dates, American singer Devon Again is scheduled to perform as the opening act. While the tour has featured different openers globally, such as the British band Wolf Alice, Devon Again will set the stage for Rodrigo's arrival at the Centre Bell.

Global tour scale

This upcoming Montreal appearance is part of a massive 86-date global arena run. The tour spans venues across North America and Europe, offering fans the chance to see the artist's transition from a breakout phenomenon to a permanent fixture in modern alternative music. The shows are designed to be cinematic, often beginning with elaborate stage setups like fields of flowers and ambient nature sounds.
