Santas Anonymous Fort McMurray 2026 begins its 42nd season of holiday help on November 6-7, when the annual Family Christmas Market fills the gymnasiums at Father Patrick Mercredi Community High School. The campaign gathers food and presents so that families connected to both local school divisions can mark Christmas with a dinner and a gift for every child.

Why you should go

  • The market has doubled in length. For the first time it runs two days: Friday, November 6 from 10am to 5pm and Saturday, November 7 from 10am to 3pm.
  • There is plenty to browse. Organizers expect more than 80 vendors under one roof.
  • Children have their own space. A Fun Zone is planned, and organizers hint that special visitors may stop by.
  • Every dollar stays with the campaign. Superior Propane will refill propane tanks on site, with the money raised going to Santas Anonymous.
  • Giving is easy. Visitors can bring a donation to drop off while they shop.

More ways to help in November

Hockey fans get two teddy bear tosses at Centerfire Place: the Jr Oil Barons game on Saturday, November 21 and the Fort McMurray Oil Barons game on Saturday, November 28. Bears can also be bought in the main concourse before each game.

Keyano College Athletics is supporting the campaign for the first time. On Friday, November 27, entry to the Huskies women's game at 6pm and men's game at 8pm is granted in exchange for a new toy or book, or a cash gift to Santas Anonymous.

A new "Getting Fit with Santas" week will offer public classes such as bootcamp, yoga and zumba, with fees directed to Christmas hampers. Organizers say more information will follow.

What to know before you go

The market runs at Father Patrick Mercredi Community High School in Fort McMurray. The brief does not list admission prices or vendor details, so check with the school before travelling.

People can leave items like fresh toys, infant supplies, or items for older residents, along with cash, at the school. Organizers particularly want presents suited to youth aged 12 to 18. Residents can also host Christmas parties that collect toys or funds.

Packing week is set for December 14 to 17, with hamper delivery on December 18. Volunteers deliver in pairs and should contact the school in early December.
